Dell PowerEdge SC1435 server problems

Problem: you get the following message whenever you boot:

Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility

There are no error messages that would suggest what the problem is. There are no obvious BIOS settings to allow the server to boot without an attendant present to push F1 -- and that's kind of a big drawback for a rack-mount server. The fact that there is no error message alone is annoying, but the solution pushed me over the edge to feelings of spite toward Dell. At any rate, the solution is easy. Go into the BIOS settings (press F2 for BIOS setup during power on). Then simply disable the SATA drives. Sure, that makes perfect sense. Right? The machine will still boot with SATA drives. I don't know what this means, but it gets rids of the F1 nagging... When in the BIOS Setup screen select the two options for "SATA Port A" and "SATA Port B". Select with Enter or SPACE key. Then select the "Drive Type" with SPACE and set it to "OFF". So after this is done, "SATA Port A" and "SATA Port B" should both say "Off".
